Hooray for Fall!

While reading my friend Allison’s post this morning I realized I to love fall. It is such a great season and even though we had a 100% chance of rain today, I just still love this time of year. I have several projects I am working on. For one a baby shower for my dear friend Megan. I had a bunch of fun ideas and inspiration for the shower it will have to wait until afterwards so not to give away any surprises. But here are some other things I have been inspired by lately:

I am trying to learn how to crochet this Fall and this blanket is the reason I decided to. It is just so gorgeous. Now I am currently in the beginning stages. I’ll let you know how it goes but I am also left-handed and am learning how to crochet using my right hand so it’s been a little troublesome so far but I am determined. 

 

The Art House Co-op has a new project! The Scavenger Project. This one looks really awesome and I am hoping to sign-up for it.

Project Time!

The Uniform Project  is a project that benefits the Akanksha Foundation, which is a grassroots movement that aims to help education in India. What is it? The idea is the woman who started the project will wear the same dress for 365 so show fashion sustainability by changing accessories from day to day. She will donate one dollar per day which by the end of the year will help a child go to school. The project is to help gain awareness to the need of education in India… so you can donate too!

I know, I know it has been a little more than forever since I’ve posted but trust me I’ve been really busy. What in the world have I been doing? Well…

My BFF’s baby is on the way and its a boy!!! And my job as the “cool aunt” begins. 

And a good friend of mine just got married. It was a beautiful wedding with pictures taken by an awesome photographer. And speaking of wedding he just started a new wedding blog so go check it out. 

But I am back and ready to blog some more! And since I have been gone so long I realize this needs to be a spectacular blog. So enjoy. 

First there is HappyTape which need I say more? I think the name explains it all. It will make you happy. Or at least it makes me happy and I don’t own any… 

 

 

 

Some great fabric that my mom found by Anna Maria Horner. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of her fabric. It’s just all so great. And she also has some really great patterns. I really want to try the clutch.

 

Also I absolutely am in love with this food site. I always want to make the recipes on her site and the best thing is she provides them for you. 

 

 

 

A Beautiful Monday

Well today is not so beautiful here it’s actually very rainy but if your day does need some brightening I am going to share some beautiful photography from my friend Alex. I have not had a chance to post in a while due to serving coffee and hanging out with my good friend Allison but will try and post more this week. An Etsy kinda friday…

Why is Love free?

One of my favorite things is to tell others about organizations, communities, or just people trying to make a difference everyday. One of these groups is called Love is Free. They are people just trying to show the love of God in the best way they know how and everyday. One of these ways they do this is by giving out free pancakes to people in downtown Auburn on Friday nights. It’s just that simple. Love is simple. 

To do this they need funding and during this time in our economy funding can be scarce so if you are interested in finding out more about this group please go to: www.whyloveisfree.org. It doesn’t take much to help out and any support is welcome.

So my blog is usually devoted to design and etc. but today being the very special day that it is I have decided to dedicate my post to my dear friend Megan. It’s her birthday isn’t that awesome. She is a great person and deserves the best things in the world. You should go to her blog today and wish her happy one. And buy her lots of gifts (from my shop). OK j/k  about the shop part you should def. still buy her gifts … but really let her know you love her and that she is great. And I miss her and Lancce and hope that today is a fun and exciting day. So Happy Birthday Megan!
